May The 4th Be With Us Always.

Star Wars Day. What a great testament to the breadth and duration of a saga. When the epic 42 year run of movies in the Skywalker story closed in 2019 I thought that's it. I had initially thought interest among the nouveau uber geek’s would decline. I also braced for an interminable set of reruns of a story I knew too well. Thanks then to Disney and it's in house fans that are keeping the Star Wars universe going. I have enjoyed the movies such as Rogue One and Solo. But the TV series like the Mandalorian have drawn me back in. It's not so much the classic story telling as the vibe these Disney shows put out. Hard to describe but I am experiencing the same vibe I got some 50 plus years ago watching Friday night New Zealand TV Sci Fi serials, such as Buck Rodgers, Planet of the Apes and Logans run. Today I am a bit jaded as I can spot a fore shadowing moment a mile away but it is still an enjoyable ride and ever so cozy because of the strong nostalgic feel.

I have always considered a Star Wars strategy board game a must have. I invested heavily into Rebel Storm the miniatures game. Rescue the Princess from the cell blocks is still my best and finest made scenario in any game I've played. X wing is another favorite although I have only concentrated on the scenarios from Episode 4. I can't tell you how many times I have attacked the Death Star. Recently I have enjoyed Outer Rim as a solo experience. I would love to try the many others but both time and expense restrict me.

By the way I am an Imperial supporter but I wont get into politics of an imaginary universe. The imaginary politics in the real world is stretching reality enough.

As big fans I guess you all have your home Star Wars shrines, So Hail Star Wars and all its legions of makers, creators and game players keeping it alive. It's such a great universe to play in.
