Kill Storm On Ghosar Quintus

It’s been a while since I’ve played Overkill. It’s even  been awhile since I’ve played anything from Games Workshop. As winter closes in and the incessant wet weather keeps me increasingly inside, I find myself looking back to games that not only got me through past wet patches but also those that matched the mood this weather induces. Games Workshop’s Overkill is a perfect match with its gothic gloom ascetic coupled with big guns and high body counts, great gloomy rainy day fare. A quick reread of the basic rules and off I go into a blood soaked first mission. My character armed only with frag cannon stood shoulder  to shoulder with heavily armed team mates happily cutting a swathe through  mutant hybrids, seeing the enemies of the Emperor brought to heal. On rainy days I can see the appeal that the Warhammer gaming world has for its legion of fans. But what do they play when the sun comes out. No codex for rainbows and Unicorns to date ?

Mutant Scourge.
